Why is an employer asking for a new 101?
At the beginning of the tax year, many companies collect fresh employee cards in order to correctly calculate deductions.
This is an opportune moment not to “swipe away the old,” but to actually update your family, address, benefits and repatriate status.
Update checklist
Personal data and ID, address, marital status, children, benefits, information about another job, employer data.
If a child was born during the year, a job changed, or a grace period ended/started, mark this clearly.

What happens if you return your old form?
The employer may withhold tax based on outdated data. The overpayment is sometimes returned, but it’s easier not to save it for months.
