Common mistakes in Tofes 101 that cost money

Invalid date or ID number

Confused day and month, missing digit in ת.ז. - the form may be rejected by accounting or recorded with an error.

Before downloading the PDF, check the ID number with the document literally character by character. This is the cheapest test and the most common mistake.

Second job not specified

With two employers, it is important to correctly distribute income. Otherwise, one of them may withhold tax as “without benefits.”

Forgotten children, spouse or repatriate status

Marital status and children affect tax scores. After your baby is born, update 101 as soon as possible.

New repatriates often forget to note the grace period - because of this, the first months of salary are “cut” more than necessary.

Outdated form after change of circumstances

Marriage, divorce, moving, new job - a reason to update Topes 101, and not wait until the end of the year.

The employer calculates the tax based on the last card you handed in. Old form = old (often worse) holds.

Fill out the new version of Tofes 101 and submit it to the employer. The old card is usually replaced with a current one.
